This is an Adaptive Re-use of an existing house from the Goa Portuguese era.
The existing structure was without structural damage but necessitated a restoration of its architectural style and an adaption to the new use as a Centre for the Deaf Blind to be run by Caritas - Goa, where the Differently-Abled are mentored for learnings so as to allow them to be independent.
Work of this nature involving a existing older built form of architectural value requires a detailed study by measured drawings with photographs of the existing structure and site conditions, to ensure that the design for its adaptive reuse is incorporated sensitively into the existing.
The documentation here presents 'Before / After' comparisons.
