An organic system for a Cementery.
It is based on the inability to excavate the land of Alcarria, in a town of Guadalajara, Spain. In the previous state, the city had dumped earth up to 4 meters high. In this process, the trees had been sunk in cavities. The project is based on this artificial landscape and incorporates the idea of the flower as a system Growth of a cemetery. The "geometric flower" resolves the topography of the site and provides a clear symbolic content. Each "flower" is home to a group of burials and its size depends on the needs of the population. This strategy allows to preserve the trees, making them the center of the resting place of the visitor, creating courtyards around them. This is a project with 10 years of development (1.800 burials) and is intended to be extended when necessary.
