The
new Concourse D, completed in 2003, provided expanded gate capacity of four
gates for long-haul international flights, and seven gates for domestic or
international travel, as well as expansion of the Federal Inspection Services
(FIS) including INS, Agriculture and Customs, to accommodate 1,200 passengers
per hour, sized at 200,000 square feet. The concourse design allows a 120-foot
clear internal span with no physical obstructions to hinder passenger flow or
concession layouts.
Concourse E was designed as a 32-gate commuter
concourse. It has been expanded four times (2003, 2005, 2007, 2009), and is
ultimately designed for 65 gates. The project includes four sets of moving
walks and three different connector spines linked together by concessions and
restaurant spaces.
