Oriented and inflexed at the middle , this house lends itself to intensify the experience of both the beachside view and the forest, becoming a vortex; an extra ordinary moment on daily ordinary life. The entrance of the house leads to the Day Volume which houses the living and dining rooms with their service programs, from the interior of the house one can seamlessly access the Night Volume where the sleeping rooms and more private programs are established. The volume separation in this house creates a free space within which is flowing into the landscape, the boundaries of the spaces diffusing into the larger landscape. This key experience of being between intense nature moment, the beach and the forest can be experienced as well in the pool, where its swimming portion is parallel to the ocean, a shallower area extends towards the interior of the house , and to the forest beyond. The staircase which unites the volumes becomes the node of the house, a place in which to look towards the ocean horizon and to the pool below it. In this way the staircase forms the link between the day and night volume and a transitory moment to realize the landscape panorama within the house to the outside.
The pattern wall makes the landscape views appear as scenes through frames that are always different, sometimes tight gaps reveal glimpses of light and sometimes they make such wide openings as to make the full views for the living room. On a more practical level the varied mass of the patterned wall can control the heat intake from the sun and allow the window areas to fill in with light yet have a controlled relaxed environment within the house. This experience its extended to the outside by way of the ground landscape which is an extension of the living room. Separation of interior and exterior is delicate, allowing to feel as if this house is being transverse by nature.
The roof of the house is the mirador, a terrace on which to watch the waves come by. The geometry of the roof allows it to accommodate both built in storage for terrace appliances as well solar panels in its non-accessible areas. The lower roof above the Day Volume is fully accessible and destined to enhance the rather uncommon experience of inhabiting a house immersed in nature. While the higher roof above Night Volume, is an ecological roof, with pitches angled to maximize solar power gathered by solar panels.
The materials of the house are white concrete for the walls of the house, which reflect light and avoid excessive heat gain. The floors are white concrete sealed in resin, for high luster and to facilitate the maintenance of the house.
