Working with lighting consultants Auerbach Glasow French, MBH provided much needed upgrades to the outdated lighting fixtures of the historic Cathedral of Saint Mary of the Assumption. The objective was to replace older inefficient technology with more reliable, energy efficient technology that offers more control and a more natural quality of light that was originally intended. The greatest challenge lied in providing these upgrades without affecting the character of the building in any way, which included designing custom mounting details for new fixtures. The lighting design manages to instill warmth into a voluminous space that is predominantly made from cement.
