League Studio was commissioned by renowned jewelry maker Catbird to design their new 10,000 square foot headquarters and fabrication facility at Building 77 in the Brooklyn Navy Yard. The large expansive floorplate and concrete construction, once a munitions storage facility, serves as an industrial backdrop for the new design.
League Studio divided the space into zones for manufacturing, web packaging and office functions, as well as breakout lounges and support spaces for workers.
The incorporation of natural light into the zones where employees reside was of paramount concern.
The project involved coordination across multiple disciplines and also incorporated state of the art technology in the jewelry fabrication industry. In essence, striking a balance between manufacturing and working in Brooklyn’s newest and most innovative creative hub.
