The project consists in a multifunctional sporting complex placed in the heart of Castelvetro (Piacenza) with indoor and outdoor sport facilities.Key points of the project:- sustainability and bio-architecture as general principles of the project- use of ecolabel materials- innovations in matter of typology, technology and ecology- sinergy with the surrounding territory- wide spaces for parking, integrated with green and treesThe surrounding area is provided with public facilities: the schools (primary and secondary) and the new school refectory with outdoor spaces to host various shows and events. The close relationship with schools and city center favour a mix of users, attracted by the different activities indoor and outdoor of the complex.SPORT CENTERIndoor sport facilities:- court (for basketball, gymnastics, volleyball, five-a-side soccer, leisure activities) with stands for 320 spectators- changing rooms with bathrooms (4 for teams, 4 for coaches and referees, 2 bathrooms for spectators and 1 for sport center's staff)- hall with reception- polifunctional gym- offices- barOutdoor sport facilities:- regular soccer field with stands for 440 spectators- two soccer fields with synthetic grass- beach volley court- four bowling courts- artificial dune planted with trees with bycicle paths, pedestrian paths and a wall for free climbingThe polifunctional sport center has a variable wave-like section which emphasises the dinamism of the sporting and leisure activities. Functionally, in matter of energy savings, the roof shape allows an optimized use for the installation of solar panels. The building gives a lightness and transparency effect towards the green areas.
