Castellan's House reconstruction - a unique cultural heritage project
The reconstruction of Castellan's House will preserve the authenticity of the building while adapting it for museum use. It is a unique project that addresses the challenges of revitalising historic buildings. The old facades of this building were not preserved and the internal structures were in poor condition. The renovation sought to adapt the building for public use while preserving the most valuable elements.
Preservation of historical value and modern adaptation
The project envisages that all solutions will preserve the building's intrinsic value as much as possible. Although the building has been given a new interior finish, the wooden ceiling structures, which are recognised as a cultural asset, have been exposed and remain visible. Each step of the renovation has been coordinated with the aim of maintaining authenticity and respect for the historical value of the building.
The renovation project included repairs to the roof structure, which allowed for the creation of new spaces in the attic. A staircase was added and connected to the newly formed basement and attic. Inside the building, new engineering, ventilation, heating, fire-fighting, security and communication systems, as well as new sanitary facilities were designed to ensure the functionality and safety of the building.
The building's accesses have been given a lot of attention, with the creation of a terrace and new green areas, which bring the space to life.
