This classic casona in front of the ocean in Barranco was remodelled by Borasino Architects in Lima, adding a second floor and an underground level, using shihuahuaco wood and corten metal to add an industrial look without interfering with the classic architecture.
After the project was finished, Plantique designed the gardens and terraces around the house. The front garden had native peruvian species and a natural feeling. The inside garden had an avocado tree that survived the remodellation and we combined it with plant spheres to make it a fun place for kids to play. The sauna garden was under gound level and we chose a tropical design to surround the exterior shower. For privacy in the terrace upstairs, we used bamboo on cement pots and clusters of plants in different areas.
