Originally a detached garage on a century-old lot, the Casita’s design offers indoor/outdoor flexibility for Central Texas’s dynamic climate. The existing footprint was expanded into a second-floor loft and a multi-season porch with custom sliding screens that open to the backyard and a new covered deck. Salvaged old-growth lumber from the original structure was repurposed for the interior detailing and cabinetry. All additions were constructed on no-dig footings to protect the mature pecan tree’s roots, and the roof was designed to accommodate tree growth and limb movement.
