The low density area has got particular characteristics of sinuous topography. Slopes and hills create unexpected situations for house design.
The site hosts two pre-existent houses, which suffer from isolation, as they are constructed lower than the street level. The highest point of lot is on the street side and then it slopes down. The isolation is felt even stronger, as the neighboring buildings are very close to the lot. Constructional problems arising during the time have already captivated the existing constructions.
The programme of the project joins three family homes in one building, which is raised up one floor, leaving the lower part for technical issues like accessing the building, parking the car, storing the garden equipment etc. The ground level functions as the separation between the humid ground level and the living level.
The construction is based on the modular system, aiming to maximize and enhance the living space, while minimizing the costs and the time to construct the house and building.
