Located in a unique parcel facing Zurich Lake, the Sil house was conceived as a band that grows to reach as high as possible and thus be able to enjoy one of the most privileged views of the surroundings.
Morphologically, we looked for an except main volume that is folded up and does not touch the ground. To sustain it, another volume is overlapped underneath, creating a morphological game.
Inside, we seek to achieve spatial continuity with the ribbon, so a central design was created whose main element was the core of the house. This was composed of a volume of wood that went from being a library on the ground floor, to becoming a staircase and finished on the top floor as the kitchen furniture and railing. This set of shapes on the upper floor allow a clear separation of spaces, creating areas and giving rise to the dining room, kitchen and living room. All of them have a privileged view and no vertical impediment to enjoy them.
The morphological game with the band that is bent, allows the house to be provided with 4 terraces and generate passive solar control through cantilevers.
The last floor is crowned by a roof that has a play of shapes and geometry, it not only allows the entry of natural light but also create the boundaries of the zones on the floor through the height. The shape and plans of the ceiling correspond to a program: the dining room, the kitchen and the living room.
