Located in a quiet residential area near Dubai’s waterfront, Casa SC28’s design effectively integrates with its natural surroundings, creating a serene and relaxing atmosphere. The use of glass and concrete in a simple volume, combined with lush vegetation, creates a balanced contrast between the built environment and nature.
The large windows on the facade that open onto the street bring filtered natural light into the living area, create a mutable space during the hours of the day. The double-height central volume serves as the focal point of the house, around which the various rooms are arranged, providing a sense of continuity and flow throughout the house.
The use of a water mirror that runs the entire length of the lot from the street to the back, as the central feature of the ground floor, adds a sense of tranquility and serenity to the interior spaces. The interplay of solids and voids on the roof creates a protected space that is always shielded from direct sunlight, resulting in a captivating patterns of light and shadow on the garden and interior of the house.
The second level contains the bedrooms and master suites, all of which offer stunning views of the garden and the distant horizon of the sea through large windows that create a sense of continuity between the sorrounding landscape. The rooftop terrace provides a spacious family leisure area overlooking the sea, creating a harmonious blend of indoor and outdoor living.
The entire project tends toward a natural harmony, with the use of organic materials to create an inviting atmosphere. Brushed concrete, wood, and rough plasters are carefully selected to contrast with the soothing palettes of blue water and lush green tropical vegetation, adding depth and texture to the spaces. These natural materials help to create a seamless connection between the built environment and the natural surroundings. The use of large windows and water mirrors allows natural light to filter through and create changing reflections on the surface of the water. The interplay between water and light creates a mesmerizing effect that can be enjoyed throughout the day.
In addition to its aesthetic benefits, water also serves a functional purpose, helping to regulate the temperature and humidity levels of the indoor spaces. The overall use of water in the project, combined with the natural materials used in the design, creates an environment that promotes a sense of peace and tranquility. It's a stunning example of how architecture can seamlessly integrate with the natural elements to create a harmonious and inviting space.
