Located in a plot of land with approximately 3 hectares, this project intervenes in an old dwelling of a couple of housekeepers, to construct a new house. The caretakers old house, is placed north of the site, east delimited for the River Cavalum, and is wrapped for a small water channel that crosses all the property. The set consists of a Two-story house, supported on a small threshing floor, a mill and a kitchen. An interior courtyard articulates the different volumes, which won unity this way. A natural element, a rock of high scale, helps to characterize the place.Evaluated the characteristics of existing buildings, the option was to recover the mill, preserving the poetry of the "place" but adapting it to a new use. Also preserved was the kitchen, which has a peculiar smokehouse chimney. This path has not been followed in the main body of the house, because conditions for recovery were not met. Thus, a new volume appeared in its place even if it follows the same placement logic. This new construction in white plaster, hosts the five rooms planned in the program, serves as support for the development of the project: in their extremes, two new volumes to the east and west created a new series of outdoor courtyards, in a peaceful dialogue with the pre-existence.The west volume which embraces the social program, timbered, is very transparent and surrounded by a gallery at the high elevation. Finally, the east volume receiving a squash open to the exterior at the north side, is coated with yellow granite.
