CASA RO
The land where the project is located is a private residential zone, with very specific restrictions. The architectural approach we are proposing allows an uneven distribution squad that offers service areas across the boundaries of the designated area, allowing a free flow while emphasizing one of the major elements in the house; the central courtyard, presented as the heart of the home.
Alongside this approach, the vocation of the land and its relation to the edge of a ravine, can generate an internal distribution, creating a clear separation between public and private areas, each situated in a different wing of the ground floor.
The architectural program is adapted to the topography and solves the distribution of the residence into two levels, with the upper floor access and utilizing service areas, as the downstairs level is dedicated to the social and private areas. Worthy of note, is the shift in the volume of the social area so that the exterior corridors seize the gap and unite the space with the ravine.
By using apparent brick, with a detailed arrangement, the character of this space is defined by creating a clear distinction between the outside and inside. Likewise, the use of lattices defines a permeable volume, generating unique gardens and a variety of light and shadow features. This detail defines an enriching spatial experience, as visuals are carefully framed creating different looks outwards.
The private areas, such as bedrooms, living room, dining room, kitchen and TV studio, are distributed around the central courtyard on the lower level. This configuration maintains a connection to the outer space and nature.
The topography and location on the site are the qualities which allow Casa RO, the integration with its context in a subtle but definitive intention, thus achieving a flowing, comprehensive architectural and spatial depth.
