Casa Raku was created to bring to life the lifelong dream of its owners — a vision born in childhood and shaped by travels around the world, especially in Japan.
Inspired by kairaku, the joy of living by the sea, the design places water at the heart of the project, connecting every space both physically and visually. On a narrow oceanfront site, a landscaped axis of gardens and water flows through patios and courtyards, leading to an infinity pool that blends seamlessly into the Pacific Ocean.
The two-story home includes two bedrooms, a private office, and open social spaces that extend outdoors. The 21-meter pool features a glass-walled sunken lounge, giving the feeling of being surrounded by water. Its surface reflects the nearby mountains and a stone garden made of rocks handpicked from different regions of Ecuador, bringing a piece of each landscape to the home.
