Casa R4 was conceived with the purpose of remodeling a property over thirty years old, previously used as office space. The interior spaces were redesigned and customized to suit the needs of the family who would live in the home.
The house is located in a ravine with a steeply sloping terrain. Due to this condition, the building is divided into five half-levels. The project's topography and levels were used to define the private and social areas, maximizing the views of the surrounding vegetation in the ravine.
At ground level, the main entrance is framed by a staircase that leads to a small plaza with a fountain and abundant greenery, creating a warm and welcoming atmosphere.
Upon entering the house, you are greeted by a hallway connected to a sculptural staircase, which links to the other levels of the house. The two upper half-levels accommodate the private areas, while the two lower half-levels house the social spaces.
The architectural project complements perfectly with the work of Kenya Rodriguez Estudio, who were in charge of the interior design project.
One of the main features of the project is the triple-height courtyard in the living room, which provides natural light to a small interior garden that serves as a visual focal point and complement to the social areas.
Customized millwork is a key element of the project. Skillfully crafted in walnut, it was designed to create a sense of comfort and warmth throughout each space.
The goal throughout the development of Casa R4 was to integrate different spaces, combining functionality, warmth, and harmony.
