Casa Quintana I is the first part of a two-vacation home project located on the same property in Valle de Bravo, State of Mexico.
The design takes advantage of the irregularity of the terrain and the abundant nature of the surroundings, bringing it into the interior by creating half-levels and double-height spaces that allow you to discover the house gradually, enjoying each space and every view.
The steep incline of the land and the street allowed us to elevate the ground floor well above street level, thus opening the house and its views in a way that makes you feel surrounded by the natural beauty of the location from any space. The public areas are distributed on intermediate levels, while the bedrooms are located on the highest level to ensure privacy and tranquility.
Materials play a crucial role in the project. Exposed concrete, wood, quarry stone, natural stone, and clay, all in their simplest forms, allowed us to achieve a balance of sensations that translate into a peaceful, fresh, and versatile place.
The exterior design, with the use of natural clay tiles and stone walls, aims to coexist with the environment without appearing as an alien entity.
