While the original property was built in 1944, when it was acquired in 2020 it was decided to maintain a brick wall with its chimneys and a circular terrazzo staircase, the rest of the house was practically demolished and had to be restructured from the foundation.
The house is built on a two-story building on the highest part of the lot overlooking a beautiful canyon; essentially the program is a social area very open to a terrace overlooking the pool and gardens with a library at double height and work spaces, on the second level are the two bedrooms and the laundry area.
The construction is made mainly with concrete walls and metal structure to overcome the 10 m clearings and the overhangs required by the spaces. We covered the towers of the chimneys with a pink colored stone of irregular formats. The stone of the floors, terraces and pool is a granite from India called Caledonia. The bathrooms, bar and tables are made of an Italian stone called Grigio Cárnico and the walls and floors are made of Canadian Oak wood.
The property has a 95 year old Pirul tree with a very prominent presence and we decided to make a small square to sit under such a formidable specimen. Hence the name of the house.
It has the most advanced technology in terms of energy use, water use, solar panel heating and photovoltaic power generation, as well as a general automation system that controls all systems of the house.
