Set in a small urban lot of a Lisbon’s residential neighborhood, the original building incorporated a front street particularly consistent in terms of scale and design. For this reason we chose to preserve its main facade and the scale of intervention, as well.
The new building is organized into four floors, with its entry made from an intermediate level between the floor -1 and the floor 0, both occupied by the social and services spaces of the house. The connection between the front door and floor 0 is made through of half stairway that distributes to an “open space ” where is located the kitchen, the dining room and the main living room. The link to the other floors are made through a staircase that works as the separation of the different spaces. In the floor -1 there a garage, a bathroom, a laundry room and a secondary living room attached to the garden. On floors 1 and 2 we found the private functions of the house with 3 bedrooms and bathrooms.
