Project for a house in the Alphaville condominium in Nova Lima, near to Belo Horizonte. Despite the sloping terrain, the brief for this project asked for a program on just one floor and integration with the natural external area.
To take advantage of the natural slopes, the garage was positioned in the basement, but not in an exposed way from the street and next to the support rooms such as storage, gas house, engine room. A hidden and covered staircase accesses the covered outdoor area of the house above.
A more monumental staircase also highlights the entrance of the house to this same external area, which can be completely integrated with its interior through the large sliding doors on the facade.
The clients also asked for a lap pool with wet access to the sauna, which we positioned on the side to also connect to the outdoor area. In addition, all these places are faced to the best view: of the lagoon, right in front, and of the sunset.
The house is clearly divided into two blocks: social and private, forming an L shape. The social block has higher ceilings and integrated living and kitchen.
The private block has two suites, an intimate TV room and the master suite. But the three-bedroom house could easily be converted into four bedrooms, replacing the family room with a bedroom, making the building a great commercial advantage. At the back of the private block is a green reserve area, giving privacy mainly to the master suite that has doors opening to the back. All rooms have an opening and direct access to the garden.
With the convenience of clients and accessibility in mind, a vehicle ramp was positioned laterally for access to the floor level, right next to the kitchen and service area.
