In previous thoughts with close friends, there was an exchange of ideas about what they were looking for a house and what it is their budget, and we could reach these essential points:
- Find a place with investment value and good resale potential.
- Build a one-bedroom house with possibilities to extend its construction surface under the concept of "a Loft House".
With this, the construction can allow us to adapted the house to the needs of the client and grow along with its residents.
- Find a balance between the cost of the land, the finishes of the house and certain design points that the client considered essential.
It is through these 3 points that the project seeks to optimize the client’s resources, wich is why the house seeks to show its essence through its materials.
As the house will be besieged by neighboring homes, it was decided to design an introvert façade, in which the lattice wall had a big role to create a discontinuity element in the second floor. In addition, the double wall on the façade isolates the view of the bedroom, an element that also provides a “patio”, creating privacy and a nice view to the bedroom.
The house consists of 2 levels, so as not sacrifice the interior spaces. On the ground floor, the front restriction is used for 2-car garage and the rear restriction for a garden.
The proposal considered connecting the garden to the social activities of the living room, dining room and the kitchen, integrated spaces with each other, and added double-height area to generated openness and comfort.
The room was proposed on the second floor, unlinking it vertically from the living area, and, since it does not have a in-between wall towards the double height, a single space is generated, achieving spatial and visual amplitude.
The upper floor has the possibility of growing. From the beginning, structural preparations were anticipated to build a second bedroom in the actual double height space.
The use of the bricks of Novaceramic product for the walls was chosen due to its structural features and the thermal comfort it provides. In addition, its beauty endows the project with character.
The contrast element is caused by apparent concrete.
The house tries to understand the spatial uses in a way that is not dependent on a large budget, thinking about the user and their way of living, and with the interpretation of producing a good architecture through its materials.
