Casa Leve is a single-family home in a historic residential neighborhood in São Paulo, Brazil. Entirely built with exposed concrete, its form is a composition of small boxes topped by a square flat slab. Inspired by the many brutalist homes in the city, the building is crowned with a sculptural water tower that seem to float above the flat roof.
The living room occupies one third of the floorplan and connects the front and back yards. The resulting space has abundant natural light, cross ventilation and is flexible in its possible uses. To one side is the kitchen, bringing even more light into the space. All openings are set back from the facades, protecting the interior spaces from the sun and emphasizing the monolithic aspect of the building.
