This
vacation home is located within the coastal, rugged terrain of the V Region in
Laguna Verde. In order to support a lifestyle grounded in communal living
within the natural environment, emphasis was placed on indoor and outdoor
common spaces. Consequently, bedrooms were placed on the periphery, further
ensuring a good night’s rest.
The
site is utilized to construct 3 interlocking volumes that climb up the slope of
the hill, framing unique views at every level. Volumes are connected by a grand
stairway, which weaves from the lofted first floor common spaces and outdoor
terraces to the bedrooms and bathrooms beyond. In addition to articulating
spaces throughout the home, the stairs encourage informal encounters typical of
the beach lifestyle.
