GS House is located in Playa Del Golf, a private condominum, 95 kilometers south of the city of Lima, in a desert geography, typical of the peruvian coast.
The project faced 2 restrictions: 1) Design a beach house pretty far away from the beach; and 2) Cover with 325 m2 of built area (limited by budget), a lot with large dimensions by the standards of a traditional beach house: 1,300 m2.
With these restrictions, it was decided to turn all the programs to the interior, around a central patio, which in turn serves to separate the building into 2 blocks: a private area and a social area; respecting the limits required by the regulation of the urbanization.
It was a requirement of the clients to not have any hanging beams in the dining room, to achieve the greatest visual integration towards the golf course. Due to this structural requirement, we decided to invert the beams that support the ceiling of the room and project them to the terrace, turning them into a support for parasols.
The language of the house is a response to clients' requirements: clean lines and volumes and a monochromatic palette of materials. A sober architecture that does not detract from the quintessential of a beach house: summer weekends with the family.
