The project focuses on the renovation of a two-bedroom apartment at the second floor of a building from the 50s in the Murri area, in the eastern periphery of Bologna.
The rooms distribution, old-fashion by now, saw a complete functional reorganization and optimisation of spaces, in order to adapt to a young couple needs.
From the entrance is possible to access directly the living room, a wide open-space made even brighter thanks to the use of white window frames and finishing that harmonize with the vertical walls and the ceilings, and contrast the warm colour of the pavement, a cabreuva wood parquet, the kitchen and the colourful inserts of the other furniture that recall the tones of the floor. A step and few portions of the previously existing partition wall mark the separation between kitchen and living room, almost suggesting the functional distinction between dining/relax areas.
The lighting project is exclusively based on led technology. The living room follows a direct light flow scheme with rotary wall and ceiling luminaries, completed by back-lighted elements integrated with the kitchen cupboards. Recessed spot-lights, synchronized with the cromotherapy system of the hydromassage bathtub, were installed in the bathroom, whereas the bedroom was designed with more delicate colours, accentuated by the walls’ indirect lightings.
