This house is located in a small rectangular plot of land, surrounded by small houses, and with a view on Funchal bay facing south. We had to adapt the project taking in mind the landscape and stick to the regulations for the building of houses in this area. Because of all this we decided to build a 3 bedroom house. The house was designed in layers and each room is connected to a main staircase. Every room has large windows. As this house is quite small we had to maximize the space. In the end we think that the place is more changeable and we managed to have different atmospheres. The south elevation is mainly made of big windows. The shade comes from the covered veranda that is an extension of the house to the outside. All theses volumes and the way this house is built make it very interesting.
