A two-bedroom apartment in the Barriera Vecchia in Trieste was renovated to be used as a short stay apartment. It is positioned on the high ground floor of an old-town house. The floor plan, the existing cassetted wooden windows and doors, and the herringbone oak parquet were in good condition. A design gesture of lambris (lamperie or lambrie) was implemented - a formative horizontal surface of the lower part of all walls is painted in ice green color and finished with black profile. This gesture forms a subtle background for the free-standing furniture, while the upper part and the ceiling are in lighter color. In the bedroom and the hallway there is a wallpaper with landscape graphic, which brings the mood of old Italian houses into the space. The elegant kitchen in monochromatic black is complemented by accessories in black. Part of the furniture is renovated and taken from the family private collection.
