The renovation project, interested in a building of the early twentieth century, located on the edge of the urban consolidated in Busto Arsizio.
The restoration leaves intact the building and its interior and exterior, maintaining the existing floors and recovering the pictorial layers of the walls, which, after a process of light brushing reveal unexpected textures and complexity.
The only modifications to the building consist in resurfacing the cover, which showed the obvious phenomena of instability, with a new system of coverage in white tiles that make explicit replacement surgery, and the transformation in kithcen of a space used for storage.
The materials are maintained in real condition in which they are located, with the idea of giving form to an abstract concept such as time.
The signs of time are for us a patrimony which we safeguard in all of our restoration and renovation.
The action of time give to the materials some imperfection which represent for us a sort of ornament that matter and in general the artifacts naturally possess.
We are looking for beauty in opposites, in the ability to have different elements to relate to each other.
Relationships ambiguous and imperfect, represent for us a key research and exploration of the architectural process.
The material worn by time is related with elements very controlled and refined, such as the bathroom washbasins that are both a design or as the large table of 5.50 meters in length that becomes a place where food is prepared, where meals are taken and on which they do their homework, retrieving and renewing a tradition of Italian domestic living.
A building that holds together past and present, in a form that does not leave the reasons of one prevail over the other, but that keeps them together in their diversity.
It is a plural form, ambiguous, not absolute and in constant flux, which aims to hold together the differences and twice as many things
