Casa Dos Sueños is a restored house that is located in the historic center of the city of Mérida and previously housed an air conditioning workshop. The intention of the project was to rescue the essence of the old house, for which the characteristics of historic houses such as high ceilings and pasta floors were restored and used. In the same way, new spaces were integrated adding the greatest amount of lighting and natural ventilation possible.
The distribution of the property in three bays interspersed by two patios was respected and emphasized, simplifying its volumetry.
The first bay is the one with the greatest historical value in which the access to the house, the garage, the hall, the service area, the TV room that connects to a small garden, the first guest room with bathroom and the main room that overlooks the central patio that incorporates a wall decorated with the Mayan star artisan technique.
In the patio there is a helicoidal staircase of polished concrete with a railing with a classic ironwork design, it unites the public space with the private one since on the upper floor is the main room with a private terrace and pool.
The tour continues towards the second bay where the kitchen, dining room, guest bathroom and in the outdoor area, a terrace with a living room and barbecue area. The terrace opens onto the main garden and pool.
At the back of the property is the third bay that is made up of another terrace and two guest rooms with bathrooms.
The new spaces and modern amenities create a harmonious union with the historical essence without compromising the authentic style of the house.
