This work, located in a
very steep terrain, as to the plan of reference (the street), has in its backyards
an excellent view over the hillsides of Valongo. The building is conceived as a
unified box, on where each part is adapted unequivocally to the characteristics
and “thematic of the place”, joining volumes, materials and textures that
underline different natures of the site.
The construction area,
bound within the limits of the land division project submitted to the city
council, asserts that the volume must be unique and, therefore, must contain
all the parts of the program within.
The purpose is to achieve
the biggest permeable area possible, there’s no construction offside this
unified box.
This way, we have an
architectonic object that incorporates a classic residential program and the
possibility of having a green backyard area in the lot.
The building was conceived
has an “organism” generator of paths between interior and exterior, in a way
that all the elements that compose the construction: walls, fences, pavements,
colors and light effects, connect in the process.
The building construction
system is the standard, in brick masonry, and its finishing materials explore
the colors and textures, according to the fundamentals that were used in the
composition. Each material was used according to its particular nature and
assigned to particular element in the building, interlined in a way that the
final result is a unity in the all.
