Located in a 90 square meter terrain in Punta Negra Beach, 40km South of Lima, Peru, this seasonal summer house consists of 3 floors with a volumetric approach that sets back in the highest floor. This allowed us to maintain a harmonic scale with the narrow passage that serves as an access to the dwelling.
The proposal seeks to get as much of possible views towards the sea through a study of the neighbouring buildings. At first, the dimensions of the terrain seemed narrow but taking that characteristic to our advantage allowed us to use the side walls as the main structural support of the house. As a result we obtained integrated spaces that increase the feeling of spaciousness mainly in the social areas of the house.
The house is cut in half by light and ventilation pits that also allow for a vertical connection within the different floors increasing even more this sense of spaciousness in a rather compact terrain with a demanding program by the owners. This vertical connection is used to locate the stairs. Finally, the front part of the house is connected with the rear end by the use of short bridges.
