The object's distance from its surroundings implies a decision-making on how to initiate the dialogue between them. In this case, there is the particularity of being a semi-wooded terrain, which is at the end of a street and has a downward sloping level, with a wide view of the surrounding hills Otto, Ventana and Catedral. This duality of the near and far juxtaposed invites us to seek an adjustment of the focus, of the gaze.
Understanding this, the house is developed from two elements: the deck and the roof. The deck, as a continuous interior and exterior floor plan, seeks to raise the level of the land and achieve a relationship of uses and situations with the immediate environment, with places to be, eat, cook and, at the same time, perceive the landscape and relate to the distant. The ceiling work on the other hand, specifically in the living-dining room area, focuses on raising the skirts on three sides of its perimeter, achieving a great interior height that allows the gaze to be raised beyond the usual and opening the visual field by 180 degrees, trying to somehow capture the hills in all their height and extension within the house. It seeks to achieve an intense experience with the landscape by directly intervening in the daily situations of the inhabitants.
