Located on Cañaveral Beach, this single-family residence integrates landscape and architecture within a privileged setting facing the Pacific Ocean. The project is based on a west-oriented lot with a direct view of the marine horizon, inspiring a proposal that embraces outdoor living while safeguarding privacy from the eastern access road.
The main façade facing the sea is conceived as a sequence of pure volumes that frame the horizon and filter natural light. Expansive terraces, shaded porches, and the pool unfold beneath cantilevered structures that generate shade, creating comfortable gathering areas designed for the region’s tropical climate. These outdoor spaces extend the home’s social life and reinforce its constant dialogue with the coastal landscape.
In contrast, the eastern façade ensures privacy from the access street through enclosed volumes and concrete skins that shield the interiors. This gesture gives the residence a sober and reserved character toward the exterior, while reinforcing the idea of transition between public life and private refuge.
Inside, concrete is expressed in different tones, providing continuity and solidity throughout the design. At the heart of the house, a double-height hall hosts a sculptural staircase conceived as the central feature of the space. The layout includes five full bedrooms, a home office, a cinema room, a game room, and a social area with an open kitchen that flows seamlessly into the porch and BBQ area, strengthening the connection between indoor and outdoor living.
Casa Cañaveral is, in essence, a contemporary retreat that balances privacy and openness, sobriety and fluidity, architecture and landscape. A house designed to live in harmony with the sea, where every space engages with the environment and daily life unfolds against the horizon of the Pacific.
