Breeze House is a new construction project in Madrid that includes the most fundamental aspects of the ABATON philosophy. A modern house framed in nature and light that takes advantage of the characteristics of a plot with great potential to create a house that blends with its exterior.
The structure is developed on two levels that take into account the orography of the terrain, taking advantage of the existing slope of the plot to adapt the spaces according to their use and level of privacy. From the entrance of the plot, at the lowest level, the lower volume facing north is observed with the common spaces for visitors and guests. On the upper level, the best area of the plot, the second level of the house was arranged, with the more familiar areas around an oak tree that presides over the views and marks the distribution of spaces. Independent volumes were generated, superimposed in a fan shape, embracing the oak tree and visually connecting with a large meadow to the south, from where light and natural warmth enter. The spaces for daily use are directed towards this area: living room, dining room and kitchen in the east, and bedrooms, offices and children’s area in the west.
The division of these spaces is generated by a staircase or distributor area that functions visually as a void between the volumes. With a staircase design that energizes the space and is linked to the views to the outside, it composes the only purely passage area of the entire house, endowed with a unique sculptural quality and intimately linked to the exterior and interior vegetation, eliminating spatial barriers. In the same way, the spaces are in direct contact with each other, differentiating them through a play of heights that seeks to surprise and characterizes each function both from the inside and from the outside.
This concept of eliminating material barriers between exterior and interior is transferred to the rest of the spaces of the house. The living room is designed as a porch open to the south, towards the meadow and the oak tree, and to the north, where a terrace is generated in height overlooking the surrounding views for use during the summer, being the coolest area.
The kitchen, with space for a dining room, opens in turn to the south, visually connecting with the living room.
In the west area the bedrooms are distributed with direct access to the garden, and in the case of the master bedroom, the space opens again to the south and north, with a private garden terrace. The passage to the bedroom is formalized through a large dressing room through which natural light enters from a skylight, and connects to the bathroom, which is distinguished by a custom blue marble sink. The children’s area, adjacent to the bedroom, is divided into a playroom and a double bedroom. The lower level of the house, facing north, contains the garage, offices, guest rooms, service area and a bar and cinema area that is sunken into the ground; the bar, finished in turquoise, creates a unique space adjacent to the wine cellar.
The furnishing and decoration project was conceived from a fun and almost playful character based on the creative profile of the owners. Versatile and functional pieces were implemented in different spaces of the house, which could be lived in different contexts and provide uniqueness in the same way. Master designs, such as the Up armchair by Gaetano Pesce for B&B Italia, the Tre Pezzi by Franco Albini or the Conference chairs by Saarinen coexist harmoniously with the fun rugs designed by Jaime Hayón for Nanimarquina. For each space, the selection of iconic pieces such as the Husk armchair by Patricia Urquiola, the Bouroullec chairs for Vitra or the Sengu sofa and coffee table by Cassina were carefully selected. A colorful, dynamic and unique project that seeks to establish a dialogue between architecture, interior design and vibrant landscaping.
From the outside, the difference in levels is formalized by a change in materiality; the upper volumes, finished in sate, contrast with the lower level of concrete, more organic, due to its proximity to the ground. The entire house is surrounded by thick vegetation that complements the existing trees. The native and low-maintenance varieties proposed in the project change in texture and color throughout the year, accompanying the interior in a constant dialogue between architecture and landscaping.

Una vivienda moderna enmarcada en la naturaleza y la luz, que aprovecha las características de una parcela con gran potencial para crear una casa que se integra de forma armónica con su entorno.
La estructura se desarrolla en dos niveles, teniendo en cuenta la orografía del terreno y aprovechando la pendiente existente para adaptar los espacios según su uso y nivel de privacidad. Desde el acceso a la parcela, en la cota más baja, se observa el volumen inferior orientado al norte, que alberga los espacios comunes para visitas y huéspedes. En el nivel superior, situado en la mejor zona de la parcela, se dispone la segunda planta de la vivienda, donde se ubican las áreas familiares en torno a un roble que preside las vistas y organiza la distribución.
Se generaron volúmenes independientes, dispuestos en forma de abanico alrededor del roble, que se superponen abrazando el árbol y conectan visualmente con una amplia pradera al sur, desde donde penetran la luz y la calidez natural. Los espacios de uso diario se orientan hacia esta zona: el salón, el comedor y la cocina en el este, y los dormitorios, despachos y área infantil en el oeste.
La división de estos espacios se articula a través de una escalera o zona distribuidora que funciona visualmente como un vacío entre los volúmenes. Con un diseño que dinamiza el espacio y se vincula a las vistas exteriores, la escalera constituye el único espacio de paso propiamente dicho de toda la vivienda, dotado de una cualidad escultórica y en estrecha relación con la vegetación interior y exterior, eliminando las barreras espaciales. Del mismo modo, los espacios mantienen un contacto directo entre sí, diferenciándose mediante un juego de alturas que busca sorprender y caracterizar cada función tanto desde el interior como desde el exterior.

El salón se concibe como un porche abierto al sur, hacia la pradera y el roble, y también al norte, donde se genera una terraza elevada con vistas al entorno, pensada para su uso en verano al ser la zona más fresca. La cocina, con espacio para comedor, se abre igualmente al sur, conectando visualmente con el salón.
En la zona oeste se distribuyen los dormitorios, todos con acceso directo al jardín. En el caso del dormitorio principal, el espacio se abre nuevamente al sur y al norte, con una terraza ajardinada privada. El acceso al dormitorio se realiza a través de un amplio vestidor iluminado por un lucernario, que conduce al baño, donde destaca un lavabo de mármol azul diseñado a medida. La zona infantil, contigua al dormitorio, se divide en una sala de juegos y un dormitorio doble.
El nivel inferior de la vivienda, orientado al norte, alberga el garaje, despachos, habitaciones de invitados, zona de servicio y un área de bar y cine semienterrada. El bar, acabado en tonos turquesa, crea un espacio singular adyacente a la bodega.
El proyecto de interiorismo y decoración se concibió desde un carácter divertido y casi lúdico, en sintonía con el perfil creativo de los propietarios. Se integraron piezas versátiles y funcionales en los diferentes espacios de la casa, que pueden vivirse en distintos contextos y aportan singularidad a cada estancia. Diseños icónicos como el sillón Up de Gaetano Pesce para B&B Italia, el Tre Pezzi de Franco Albini o las sillas Conference de Saarinen conviven armoniosamente con las divertidas alfombras diseñadas por Jaime Hayón para Nanimarquina.
En cada espacio, la selección de piezas emblemáticas —como el sillón Husk de Patricia Urquiola, las sillas Bouroullec para Vitra o el sofá y mesa de centro Sengu de Cassina— fue cuidadosamente escogida. Un proyecto colorido, dinámico y único que busca establecer un diálogo entre arquitectura, interiorismo y paisajismo vibrante.

Las especies autóctonas y de bajo mantenimiento propuestas en el proyecto varían en textura y color a lo largo del año, acompañando el interior en un diálogo constante entre arquitectura y paisaje.
