two independent volumes joined by a structural slab, make the whole composition of the house, and separate intentionally the program.
the first volume which contains "the house´s" basic program (sleep and eat), extends to the limit of the lot, to open itself to the south garden, and blocks the north at the same time. This long 2 story concrete volume, is made of glass in the garden level and supported by a 9ft tall concrete beam with regular sized openings which makes the facade to the upper story and brings light and view to the federal forrest to the bedrooms.
The south volume of the house is used as a more social space, where the guests can access without entering the main house. This one is a double hight concrete box with a double hight window that opens tho the main garden and the federal forest.
these two concrete boxes lay on a level below the access street in a way that to adapt the house to the very angled slope of the site.
The simplicity of the design reveals the unpretentious composition that follows 3 objectives: passive energy + function + comfort.
The house has no necessity for cooling or heating systems, its 100% natural ventilated, and its orientation lets the angled sun enter the house on winter.
The house has no need to turn on any light during daytime.
The material that mold and structure the house is concrete, wood, glass and stone.
