The “Casa Ballena” is conceived as a family home that adapts to the needs and lifestyle of its inhabitants, prioritizing comfort. It is characterized by its functional elements perfectly integrated into its architecture. Its distribution favors the fluidity of the space, generating areas of coexistence appropriate to each moment of the day: privatized where each member has their own space and common areas where family unity is encouraged.
LIVING ROOM, KITCHEN AND DINING ROOM An open space that combines the living room, kitchen and dining room. The living room has been covered in milled wood with a barcode pattern and an integrated shelf. As the protagonist, a large modular sofa from EDRA, allows the space to be combined in different ways. The Moon luminaire from FLOS and the Melt table lamp from Tom Dixon provide decorative light in the space. The central point is a structure in a wood and Krion finish that acts as a TV stand and kitchen island where a curved flight of stairs gives rise to a breakfast area. The kitchen front features custom-made wood-finished cabinets and a custom-made Krion piece that integrates the worktop, counter-worktop and sink, combining aesthetics and functionality with integrated lighting details in a hidden frame. The dining room, with a different floor, maintains the essence of its use as a terrace and the suspended light fixture in the centre of the table stands out. The laundry room is hidden by decorative curtains.
THE ENTRANCE The entrance, as a central axis, connects with all the rooms in the house. It is a small hall covered in a wood finish and yellow tones that generates fluidity towards the common and private areas of the house. Wood is the common thread of the house in floors and vertical coverings such as the milled wood panelling.
YOUTH BEDROOM The children's space, nicknamed the "three whales", is the union of three rooms in one, with the possibility of privatising some areas by means of denim blue curtains providing an accent of colour. The central point of this space is the study area, which has been made with ceramic pieces from Cerámica Ferrés. Ceramic tiles build the fronts and sides of the work areas, where lighting has also been integrated. The wardrobes, following the blue criteria, are finished with the Creta model from Finsa and wooden handles. In addition, Calisthenics bars have been installed on the ceiling, an addition requested by the three children.
MASTER BEDROOM A relaxed space, where wood is the predominant material creating a feeling of warmth. Custom-made wardrobes with details in handles and an en-suite bathroom to make the stay an intimate experience.
BATHROOM AREAS The main bathroom is configured with oak and mint green finished wardrobes. The natural stone countertop enriches this space, and above it, a Krion washbasin. In the guest bathroom, the Fez tiles from WOW and the Krion washbasin made to measure for the dark wood furniture predominate.
