DESCRIPTION:
The fundamental concept of this assignment relays on designing a building in which interior and exterior spaces could behave like a vertical juxtaposition of houses with gardens, thus the existing vegetation in the zone in which the project is located could visually connect with the building, generating a green continuity .
All the decisions that came after connected directly with this first idea; the typology of a house with garden seen as a vertical building.
The structure itself was conceived to work as a container for foliage; each balcony ends in a window box full with different kinds of plants. This widow box has multiple functions; it’s an extension of the apartment inner space, a natural connection with the outside, its foliage also works as a sun and visual protection, providing privacy and a natural filter.
The tower’s main floor consists in the lobby, commercial spaces, 3 apartments and the vertical circulation. The upper levels contain more apartments (54 units) . The 11th level is dedicated to the amenities. The building is also equipped with 4 basement levels of parking space (enough for 114 cars).
