With a vertical cut in a slope of 24 meters of difference between the lower and upper streets, the rebar was made in the middle of the slope, achieving two desired accesses, the first one through a ramp on the lower street and the other through the rooftop. The house was oriented southeast, blocking the strong heat of the west with large concrete walls covered with stone from the surroundings.
The house consists of 3 levels, each 3 meters high. The ground floor, the floor of the bedrooms and the third level, that can be reached through a stone ramp built next to the retaining wall that holds the garden that surrounds the pool. Upon reaching the huge garage, there is a mirror of water around the living room and a pavilion of wooden pergolas between two large marble walls which conclude with a huge window that shows the interior staircase surrounded by a sculptural element consisting of 12m wooden poles intertwined, that goes from the rooftop to the ground level. To the right side of this corridor is the main door, 4 meters high, with a metallic structure holding five blocks of translucent concrete panels, mimicking with the marble walls. The residence connects through long corridors acting as main axes.
Once inside, there is a corridor that leads to the outside terrace through a large revolving crystal door. From this same corridor to the right, there is a 9-meter-high living room with beamed ceilings and large windows. On the left, there is another distributor corridor going to the bathroom, garage access, main staircase and service areas. To the right of this hall is the family room which is integrated into the kitchen. Between this area and the living room is the dining room. The dining room and the kitchen with the family room, are divided from the terrace, pool and grill only by large panoramic windows.
A monumental staircase measuring 7.30 meters long by 3.80 meters wide covered in travertine silver marble, leads to the second floor and roof terrace. The center of this staircase, formed by wooden poles 12 meters long and a large window that coincides with the landing of the staircase, provides natural light and views towards the Sierra Madre mountains.
We developed three floors, the first: living room, dining room, family room with kitchen, coffee area, staircase, half bathroom, room and service areas, pool bathrooms, pool, barbecue, wood oven, cellars and a large area for equipment and site. On the second floor consists the 5 bedrooms and a family room, a kitchenette and a personal office. On the back of this floor, we locate a garden built on the slab of the facilities rooms and warehouses on the first floor, this backward garden contains structural steel tubes that hold the sidewalk of the access from the street above, creating an intimate tropical style garden with an IPE Wood deck and a Jacuzzi, creating a relaxing atmosphere.
The third floor is the access to the roof and second entrance to the house from the upper street, forms a large look out-terrace paved with white river stones and brick road walkers. This outside door links an open corridor to the interior of the house. The pergola that was designed as a decorative element on the right side, covers a Siamese crucible that serves as a fountain. A half bathroom for visitors in this area of the terrace was added.
