The AF2 residence is located in the citadel Ciudad Celeste, in the canton of Samborondón. In this place, houses with the same type of housing are located on very limited plots of land, leaving aside the true needs of the client, for this reason, the AF2 residence responds to the limitations and restrictions that the land presents, and takes these factors as design opportunities to generate more interesting spaces.
The house is based on applying several techniques of neuroarchitecture and biophilia as the main concept to improve the well-being of the people who are going to inhabit it. It begins with the idea of providing a feeling of spaciousness within the land itself, given the impossibility of leaving large green spaces due to the reduced dimensions of the property, for this reason a continuity between the external and internal spaces was sought, through the use of large windows, which generated environments of high spatial quality and favored cross ventilation against a climate characteristic of the area due to its considerable heat and humidity.
The house is divided into two floors, on the ground floor, the social areas are located, as well as one bedroom that was designed for visitors, or failing that for an older adult or a person with limited abilities, turning the residence into a more inclusive home. And on the upper floor there are two bedrooms, the TV room and a study. All spaces have a balcony either inside or outside.
In this project the materials play an important role by creating a better feeling when inhabiting the spaces. Wood and gray stone were used, in conjunction with vegetation, to create a more natural atmosphere inside and outside the house.
