Carter BloodCare supports Dallas, Fort Worth and surrounding county hospitals by providing 95 percent of the region’s transfused blood. The heart of this activity is their 16.5-acre headquarters campus, which provides testing, processing, storage, distribution, and administrative functions. An $11-million campus expansion program included a new administration building and adjoining warehouse expansion.
The 83,960-square-foot expansion provides additional space to centralize functions previously housed off-site. The open floor plan for each department allows natural light to penetrate to the interior, contributing to a quality work environment. A connecting “spline” unifies the new addition with the existing facility.
Security and FDA regulations are a part of every project that Hahnfeld Hoffer Stanford undertakes with Carter BloodCare. The firm has assembled the same design and construction team for each Carter BloodCare project to leverage their combined knowledge and experience to address the special requirements for these facilities. Architecturally, the facilities have been branded with similar red, tan and white bricks, fenestrations and metallic paneling.
