Caroline Ladd Pratt House

Brooklyn, Kings County, NY, United States

STATUS
Built
YEAR
1888
MAD coordinated the protection and restoration of key exterior elements of this 1888 Italian Renaissance style landmark building, known as the Caroline Ladd Pratt House. In 2006, carefully executed preservation of South Dover marble trim and original copper cornice detailing, along with multiple roof replacement and waterproofing issues were addressed. In a later phase started in 2015, MAD began a carefully planned and Landmark Preservation Commission approved window restoration project. Windows, glazing, hardware and other components such as sills and moldings were reviewed and documented prior to removal and reinstallation. Located within Brooklyn’s Clinton Hill Historic District, the house currently serves as a residence for the President of the Pratt Institute.
