The Design for Carman’s Head Quarters is a celebration of innovative commercial design, a revolution for collaboration and well being within the workplace.
A former chocolate factory in the industrial sector of Huntingdale has emerged a sanctuary for this dynamic business, intrinsically devoted to customer and employee wellbeing. Carved from the existing floor plate, the double height void showcases a cascading plant installation giving light to the entry, communal cafe and retail section on the ground floor. The homely approach to workplace design is evident through a tactile material palette layered with a diverse collection of the client’s personal influence and passion pieces. The vast array of existing spaces have been converted into a fully equipped gym, yoga studio, sleep retreat, phone booths, and social “prep” room. Illuminated at night, the unique outdoor conservatory and communal garden encourages employees to conduct walking meetings and to interact in a natural environment. The result is a triumph in workplace design and client collaboration.
