This project is one that focuses on the integrity of a material in a design. The material being cardboard, the exploration consisted of fabricating a life sized chair for use. Conceptually it is meant to appear strong and elegant, things that typically are not associated with such a material. In exploring the design, it was decided that the material should interlock in some fashion to convey a sense of strength. The pieces are created and attached in a way that all parts work together effectively to create one piece. This idea was focused on the foundation of the chair, the most crucial aspect of a chair. Through many trials, a semi final design was produced. It possessed all aspects that were previously explored as well as maintaining the material's strength and integrity - all with no glue or adhesive.
