Kitchenomix for Cardhouse
Concrete cantilevered terrace floating above the shallow pond and cantilevered bedrooms rooms with overlooking views of the surroundings(adjacent neighborhood and beach fronts) on the west side. The living area, kitchen and dining are located on the east side.
CARDHOUSE
It features aluminum heat sinking sun buffers and double glazed heat/uv resistant windows and cast in place concrete finish all throughout the main structure using insulated hollow block core. Main stairs(spiral) is located in the core of the house and reinforced with 12″ thick shear walls to support the cantilevers on both sides of the structure. The house has a 360′ view of it’s surroundings with multiple viewing decks on each split level side.
The house uses: Solahart Re-Usable Water Heating System,
“structural cement insulated panel” or “SCIP” on all exterior and interior wall panels for structurally insulated walling,
gypsum board acoustic ceiling panels,
Nano fabric technology used (curtains and carpets),
split type a/c system located at the roof top at the center core level,
solar panels above roof deck to store energy on Deep Cycle Photon batteries at store room,
water tank above roof deck with underground cistern provision,
reverse osmosis water purifying system,
triple chambered Sewer Treatment Plant with microbacterial cesspool filtration system.
Type of concrete used on interior wall panels are made of 5% Styro dust, 15% pyroclastic rocks, sand and cement.Card House was chosen to be among the final 20 participants of the “Design Your Dwelling” Competition for Sustainability Design held in 2008.
