When Carat expanded beyond the capacity of its former funky office space, the advertising and marketing agency set out to find larger quarters in Boston’s Back Bay.
The John Hancock tower offered many advantages–lots of natural light, enough space to consolidate the whole team on a single floor and great building systems–but the corporate image of the building didn’t perfectly suit the young dynamic of the highly creative company.
Inspired by Carat’s moving logo, the new interior scheme fuses elements of the iconic building with contrasts of light, texture and transparency to generate visual interest and energy. Invigorated by the fresh design, Carat now looks forward to the image and environment its new space will offer.
“Margulies Perruzzi Architects came highly recommended to us and we have been impressed with their hands-on involvement and resourcefulness from day one. Their 3-D design program has streamlined the design and decision-making process for us considerably.”
