Between 1988 and 1993, Volkswagen AG modernised all SEAT works in Spain. Included were the factories in Barcelona, Martorell, Pamplona and Prat.
Already in 1986, Scherr+Klimke was included as general planning contractor in this modernisation program. After diverse studies for the general building plan and development of the individual works, S+K was granted the general planning order for the reconstruction, rehabilitation and new building of the Pamplona factory. The supervised building volume amounted to about 340 million DM at the time.
Comprehensively planned within the framework of this project:
Rehabilitation / reconstruction of the bodywork building
Extension of the paint shop
New construction of the engine assembly
Expansion of the final assembly
New construction of the logistics centre. The implementation planning was transferred to a Spanish office, whereas the project management and superintendence of works was in the hands of Scherr+Klimke.
