This multiple award-winning project was the culmination of an extensive design brief, an incredibly challenging site and a subsequent design response that carefully considered every element, space and slope resulting in this highly functional, visually stunning landscape. With sweeping views of Port Phillip Bay the pool and garden needed to embrace it’s privileged position and do the site justice.
The hero of the space is the stunning wet edge pool and spa that frames the water view from the pool zone with locally quarried stone cladding the extensive retaining walls throughout, fire pit bench seating and privacy screens. Decks provide large entertaining zones with generous landings and steps navigating some of the 9m of fall in the rear yard while timeless limestone paving creates the poolside sun terrace.
Coastal planting palettes and extensive garden lighting finish off the garden with soft layers of green and grey hues, some clipped, manicured form along with contrasting grasses and perennial flowering foliage. The night scape also comes to life with our carefully considered lighting design for the entertaining areas and surrounding garden.
