As the Architectural and design lead on the Refurbishment of Cape Town Station for 2010, MDL strives to create public institutions that will endure and have relevance that accommodates technological and political shifts. Buildings are not merely backdrops to the historical drama’s enacted within and between them, but cognitive constructions in which identities (national, communal and individual) can be negotiated creatively across cultural and racial boundaries.
