Design Scape Architects are in the process of designing the new International Terminal at Cape Town International Airport, the new “Terminal 2” and upgrade to the existing “Terminal 1” comprises 30 000 msq in area at an overall cost of R2,7 Billion.
The new terminal is conceived as a simple rectangular extension to the existing ‘Central Terminal Building’ and link to the existing Terminal 1. The simple rectangular form fits on as a complimentary addition to the dominant form of the CTB. The form is also conceived as the first building to kick start the airport’s expansion from an international perspective and in line with the overall masterplan
